Before You Start
An invoice is a formal document issued based on a transaction. It summarizes the purchased items, customer or company details, and the total amount due.
Why it’s important: #
- Ensures compliance with tax regulations.
- Provides customers (especially B2B clients) with official records for accounting.
- Helps track and report revenue accurately.
Step 1: Access the Transaction #
- Login to the Selio App.
- Tap Transactions from the home screen or navigate to Account > Transactions.
- Select the desired transaction to open its details.
Step 2: Start Creating the Invoice #
- Press Create Invoice at the top of the transaction panel.
- You will now have two pathways depending on whether the customer already exists or not.
Attach Existing Customer & Company #
- Enable the Attach Existing Customer
- Search for the customer via phone number or email address.
- If found, select the customer.
Next steps:
- If the customer already has linked companies, select the company for invoicing.
- If no company exists, tap Add Company and follow the instructions to link one (see “Customer Details” guide for more).
Once all fields are completed:
Press Generate to create and print the invoice.
Add Company Details Manually #
- If no customer is linked or you prefer manual input, you can:
- Search by VAT Number:
- Enter the VAT number.
- Press Validate to auto-fill company info (if valid).
- Manual Entry:
- Fill out the company’s name, VAT number, address, city, and other fields manually.
- Once completed, press Generate to print the invoice.
After Invoice Generation #
- You can reprint the invoice anytime by accessing the transaction and tapping Print Invoice.
📌 Additional Notes:
- A valid invoice can only be created after payment or comp/void processing has been finalized.
- Invoices will include all fiscal details from the transaction, including VAT, discounts, tips, and payment methods.
💡 Best Practices
- Pre-link companies to frequent customers for faster invoicing.
- Always encourage staff to validate VAT numbers to ensure the invoice meets fiscal regulations.
- For comped or voided transactions, invoices are available but with amounts shown as 0 or strike through for transparency.
