Before You Start
Using a thermal printer helps you send order tickets directly to your kitchen or bar without worrying about heat or kitchen conditions affecting your receipts.
✅ Make sure:
- Your printer is compatible with Selio for Restaurants hardware. [Selio Shop – Buy printers]
- The printer is properly set up. See: [Connect accessories to your POS].
- If using a KDS device, check: [Selio KDS].
Recommended Printers
Selio supports Epson printers with Ethernet (ETH) connections only.

Connect Your Printer to the Network #
- Plug the printer into your local network using an Ethernet cable.
- The printer will auto-print a ticket showing its IP address, confirming network connection.
- Locate the MAC address on the printer label / backcase of printer– you’ll need this for app setup.
Enable Order Ticket Printing in Selio #
- In Selio, go to Account > Settings > Hardware > Printers.
- Tap Create a Printer and follow these steps:
- Printer Name: Name it based on location (e.g., Kitchen, Bar).
- Select Printer: Choose the printer using its MAC address.
- Is a Label Printer? Only enable if using Epson TM-L90 or TM-L100 for label printing.
- Orders: Enable and select the Prep Stations for this printer.
- Multiple Prep Stations to One Ticket: Enable if you want multiple stations printed on a single ticket.
- Print Kitchen Names: Enable if you want the Prep Station’s short name printed on tickets.
- Receipt: Enable if you want this printer to print customer receipts.
- Press Save.
- Ensure the printer status shows as ‘Connected’.
Quick Tip: Copy Printer Settings to Other Devices #
To quickly set up the same printer on another device:
- Go to Account > Settings > Hardware > Printers.
- Tap Copy from another device and select from the list.
- Confirm the printer shows as ‘Connected’.
Check Printer Connection #
If orders aren’t printing:
- Go to Account > Settings > Hardware > Printers in the Selio app to check status.
- Ensure the printer is connected via Ethernet.
- On your Android device, verify you’re connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Recommended internet speed: at least 25 Mbps.
Remove a Printer #
- Go to Account > Settings > Hardware > Printers.
- Select the printer.
- Tap Remove Printer > Continue.
Empty Printer Queue #
- Go to Account > Settings > Hardware > Printers.
- Select the printer.
- Tap Empty Printer Queue > Continue.
