Create Categories

Summary

Create categories inside a menu so products stay organized and easy to find during service.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to Selio Manager
  • Make sure at least one menu already exists
  • Confirm you have permission to edit menu content
  • Decide how products should be grouped for fast order entry

Steps

  1. Open the menu you want to edit.
  2. Go to the categories section.
  3. Start the create category flow.
  4. Enter the category name and any relevant settings.
  5. Save the category.
  6. Review the category inside the selected menu.
  7. Continue by adding products to the correct category.

Troubleshooting

  • You cannot add a category: Check permissions and confirm the menu is editable.
  • The category appears in the wrong place: Review sorting or placement rules.
  • Category names feel unclear in service: Use short, operational names that staff can recognize instantly.
  • Too many categories slow down order entry: Simplify and regroup where needed.
