Summary
Check network, power, and device readiness so the restaurant starts service with hardware that is stable, charged, connected, and operationally ready.
Before you begin
- Review all critical devices used in the location
- Confirm which devices are essential for POS, kitchen, payment, printing, and fiscal flow
- Make sure the team knows who owns the opening hardware check
- Use the check before service begins, not after the first issue appears
Steps
- Review all active devices before service starts.
- Confirm each device has power or enough battery for the expected shift.
- Check that each device is connected to the correct network or communication path.
- Open the required Selio surface on each device and verify it loads correctly.
- Confirm the correct business, location, or station appears on each device.
- Run a quick functional test on the most critical hardware paths.
- Resolve any weak point before the restaurant starts trading.
Troubleshooting
- A device turns on but is not ready for service: Opening the screen is not enough; confirm sync, role, and live function.
- A device has battery but no operational stability: Recheck network quality and placement.
- Power is available but the device is at the wrong station: Physical placement errors create operational errors.
- The team assumes setup from yesterday is still safe today: Treat readiness as a shift-opening check, not a one-time installation task.
