Steps

  1. Open the main KDS screen.
  2. Review the active station name and the screen context.
  3. Identify where incoming orders appear.
  4. Review how order cards, item details, and timing information are displayed.
  5. Identify where order states and kitchen actions are shown.
  6. Review how the team moves from new orders to in-progress and ready states.
  7. Confirm the staff knows where to focus during live service.

Troubleshooting

  • The screen feels too busy: Review screen layout and station scope.
  • Important order details are hard to read: Adjust screen setup or display configuration.
  • No active orders appear during the tour: Confirm routing and live/test data are available.
