Understand Delivery Statuses

Summary

Understand delivery statuses clearly so your team always knows what stage each delivery order is in.

Before you begin

  • Make sure the team already uses Selio Delivery in daily operations
  • Confirm everyone follows the same dispatch workflow
  • Review which statuses matter most for your service model
  • Make sure the team understands the difference between ready, assigned, and active delivery

Steps

  1. Open the Selio Delivery workspace and review the available statuses.
  2. Use NEW for newly received delivery orders.
  3. Use IN PROGRESS for orders currently being prepared.
  4. Use READY for orders fully prepared and waiting for driver assignment.
  5. Use the pre-dispatch assigned state when a ready order has been placed in a driver tray but the driver has not left yet.
  6. Use DISPATCHED / IN DELIVERY once the driver leaves and the order is actively being delivered.
  7. Use DELIVERED when the order is completed, and CANCELED / FAILED when the delivery does not complete successfully.

Troubleshooting

  • The team confuses READY with active delivery: Clarify that READY is still waiting at the restaurant.
  • Assigned orders are treated as dispatched too early: Keep tray staging separate from active delivery tracking.
  • Statuses are updated inconsistently across shifts: Use one clear operational rule and train everyone on it.
  • Managers cannot understand why the map looks different from trays: Remember trays are pre-dispatch; the map is for live delivery activity.
