Add or select a customer on an order, so your team can keep service more personal and connect the order to customer information when needed.

Before you begin

  • Make sure customer information is available in the business setup, if required
  • Confirm the user has access to customer actions
  • Check whether the order should be linked to an existing customer or a new one
  • Make sure the team follows the restaurant’s customer data rules

Steps

  1. Start a new order or open an existing one.
  2. Open the customer action on the order.
  3. Search for an existing customer or create a new customer if needed.
  4. Select the correct customer profile.
  5. Confirm the customer is attached to the order.
  6. Continue with the order as usual.
  7. Review the order details to make sure the customer information is saved correctly.

Troubleshooting

  • Customer cannot be found: Check spelling, phone number, or available search details.
  • Duplicate customer profiles exist: Select carefully and review internal cleanup rules later.
  • User cannot attach a customer: Permission limits may apply.
  • Customer details do not save: Confirm the action was completed before leaving the order.
  • Staff is unsure when to use customer profiles: Define a clear policy for when customer linking is required.
