Complete the end-of-day process correctly, so the business finishes service with a clean operational handoff and accurate daily records.

Before you begin

  • Make sure service is finished or close to completion
  • Confirm all active orders have been reviewed
  • Check that payments, fiscal actions, and required operational steps are completed
  • Make sure the user has permission to run end-of-day actions
  • Confirm the team follows the restaurant’s closing procedure

Steps

  1. Review all open or unresolved orders.
  2. Confirm payments are completed or clearly identified for follow-up.
  3. Check transactions, invoices, and any operational exceptions from the day.
  4. Open the Close of Day flow.
  5. Review the end-of-day information shown on screen.
  6. Confirm the closing action.
  7. Make sure the day is closed successfully and the team has the records needed for the next step in operations.

Troubleshooting

  • Close of Day cannot be completed: Check for open orders, incomplete payments, or unresolved fiscal issues.
  • Daily totals look wrong: Review discounts, voids, split payments, and transactions before closing.
  • A staff member forgot a required step: Return to the relevant area and fix it before retrying the close.
  • The closing action seems stuck: Refresh carefully and verify system and device readiness.
  • Manager is unsure whether the day is truly closed: Confirm the final success state and review the related daily records.
